Before you start flashing, you must verify that your device uses the Qualcomm MSM8916 (Snapdragon 410) chipset. Flashing the wrong device can permanently brick it.
Step 1: Physical Inspection
Open the case of your USB dongle and look at the PCB (circuit board). Look for:
- A Qualcomm chip marked MSM8916 or APQ8016
- Board model numbers printed on the PCB (e.g., UZ801 V3.3, UFI001B)
- The board layout matching known devices
Connect the device to your PC and enter EDL (Emergency Download) mode by shorting the test points on the PCB while plugging in the USB cable. Then run:

- MF800B-E LCD — Has a built-in 128x128 GC9107 display. Very popular model.
- UZ801 V3.3 — Common on AliExpress. Check PCB version number.
- UFI001B / UFI001C — Budget models, widely available.
- UF896 — Similar to UZ801 internals.
- SP970 — Less common but confirmed working.
- MDM9207 — Found in Alcatel IK41VE and some rebranded sticks. Different architecture.
- MDM9600 — Older Qualcomm modem, not supported.
- HiSilicon — Found in Huawei devices (E3372, etc.). Completely different platform.
- ZX297520V3 — Found in ZTE MF927U. Not supported.
